Youth Sailing Development
BSYC is recognised locally and nationally as a leader in youth sail training and junior sailing development programs. Our C.V. includes the design and production of one of South Australia’s most popular junior dinghy, the 303, and our development program in the 1990s known as Shoot The Breeze was so successful that it was incorporated as a state body and remains the State’s junior development program.
Today, sailing development is under the expert eye of one of Australia’s top sailors, Sandy Higgins. Sandy has won 4 national 505 championships and was 3rd in the world championships when it was held at BSYC in 2007. Sandy works with BSYC’s Sailing Professional, James Morgan, and a fleet of experienced instructors, assistant instructors and volunteers to ensure our development outcomes are achieved.
We aim to give all junior sailing members the opportunity to acquire the skills and experience to reach their targets.
